Alexandra Stanton
Former Senior Conduct Specialist, EMEA Global Markets, BNP Paribas
This isn’t about designing lofty ambitions for organisations or highlighting shortcomings and then walking away. I am driven to effect real change in the pattern of working life. My skills and experience encompass both design and practical strategies to embed target culture into the DNA of firms.
A key aspect of my most recent role in a global investment bank– and a particular interest of mine– is driving cultural change as a supplement to controls, in line with the FCA’s Transforming Culture in Financial Services agenda. This aligns closely with my interest in D&I, honed by seven years as founder and co-chair of BNP Paribas’ Parents and Carers Network, being a steerco member of the women’s internal network for over a decade and a further four years co-leading the Retention stream of the business led initiative, Women in Global Markets, also at BNP Paribas.
I combine the ability to navigate large and complex organisations and to drive change through effective stakeholder management with the rigour gained from over 20 years’ legal and control function experience both in law firms and in Financial Services. The various controls that I have managed have also enhanced my data management and trend analysis skills. I am trilingual in English, French and Italian and have an in-depth cultural understanding of the way these different countries operate. My linguistic skills have also always ensured that I have built excellent relationships with multiple internal teams as well as external clients.
